Artist Statement and CV

Biography
Torhild Frøydis Eid is born i 1961 in Kristiansand, currently living in Son in the south-eastern part of Norway.
She used to work as a navy officer, yet the service was getting increasingly demanding, she chose to leave.
Her inner voice urged her to explore and process things. As a result, she turned to beloved painting, but also to interior design and gardening, which are of great interests and good sources of inspiration.

Artist Statement
She is a very passionate painter, and she loves to experiment with colours, textures and techniques. She always aim at creating high-quality artworks and improving her skills, in acrylic painting and in mixed media techniques. 

She finds inspiration in her daily life and in her dreams. All the beauty in life.
The animals, the sea, the sky, the mountains and the light are sources of inspiration.
Calm music and lyrics give extra spices to the creative process.

She has a Christian view of  life. Silence and prayer connect her to the source. She allows herself to be led and surrenders. 

In her paintings she seeks to transfer her inner sensations and what she sees for "her inner eye" to the canvas.Often it turns out in an unpredictable form.

Introspection is also important, as a mean of revealing and restoring painful memories. As well as focusing on healing, seeking peace and harmony in her life.

In a World in chaos and with great challenges, she hopes the Power of Art can make the World a more peaceful place. Creating unique artworks is her way of contributing.  

Her strong desire is to touch people emotionally. 
But most of all to help them to calm down, to breathe deeply, to seek Light, Love, Silence and Peace.

CV
She attended her first acrylic painting course in the winter of 2018/2019. She continuously seeks inspiration, knowledge, and to improve her skills especially in mixed media tehcniques. She has during the last couple of years attended online painting courses in various techniques.  

She has now developed her very special and unique artistic expression. The viewer may recognize various exciting tecniques put together in the same work of art.

During a four year period, her artworks have achieved a surprising amount of international attention.

She has attended 20 international art exhibitions in 8 countries, both in Europe, USA and in The Middle East.

In Norway, 15 exhibitions.

This last international exhibition was at
"WORLD ART BUBAI" in May 2024.

She has received 16 international art awards and prizes.

In addition, numerous artworks have obtained recognition and  certificates in international art contests.

Her artworks have been published in 40 international art book/-catalogues/-magazines, also digitally numerous presentations, during the past 4 years.

The well- reputed publishing house " World Wide Art Books" (USA) has promoted her artworks widely, in " Current Masters 5" (2020), in "International Contemporary Masters 14" (2021), and in "Important World Artists 5" (2022) and in " Important World Artist 6" (2024). Additionally twice in "World Wide Art Magazine 5 (2021) and in Issue 13 (2023).

"Circle Foundation" (France) has also given her column spaces in " Spotlight Magazine", in  6 issues (2020, 2021 x 2,2022, 2023 x 2) including  " Front Cover Page Presentation" (2021).

And: "ART IDEAL" issue 2 by "Circle Foundation".
